ABOUT CERAMIC PIZZA STONES
Pizza stones work by absorbing the heat from your oven or grill and then conducting heat into your pizza to cook it evenly. Using a pizza stone will cook your pizza in minutes as long as you give it enough time to absorb enough heat so that it matches the temperature of the oven.
Being manufactured from ceramic, they’re excellent at absorbing lots of heat evenly. The even heat distribution bakes dough to perfection. The ceramic also absorbs excess moisture from your pizza base, resulting in a light and crispy crust.
You can use ceramic pizza stones in:
- Coal, charcoal and gas pizza ovens
- A kamado with pizza stone rack installed
- A home oven

HOW DO YOU USE IT?
This must be the easiest pizza accessory to use. Heat your barbecue, grill or oven to the desired temperature. Once the temperature has stabilised, put the baking stone in to heat up. It’ll take 10 minutes or more for the temperature of the stone come up to match the temperature in the oven.
Top tip: For cooking pizza, crank up the heat as high as possible. High heat is essential for a crispy pizza base. If you’re using a charcoal grill, oven or kamado, wear a long sleeve t-shirt or jacket and sunglasses to protect your arms and eyes as sparks can be thrown up.
You’ll also need a pizza peel for placing your pizza on and off the stone.
THE Ceramic Pizza Stone Review RESULT:
This ceramic pizza stone consistently cooks my pizza evenly in a few minutes. It’s good value and performs well every time. I particularly like using it for cooking Neapolitan pizza on my kamado.
